Roughage - a Free TTF PC Font by WebDog (or 'Web Dog')<br />

Roughage.ttf is a distored, distressed, grungy, trashy, heavy black slab initial caps display TrueType font that looks as if it was hand lettered and then parts erased while other parts bled.  This font only offers uppercase and that's it.  But it is free, and using a font editor, you could use it as a base to create a whole new font based on it (as so many do with public domain or free fonts).<br />

This font is only intended as a headline, header, or something to catch attention. <br />

This font was created in 2001 by Web Dog and released as a free font.  It is OK to use for any kind of project, and commercial use is fine.  Web Dog would like to know how you use it (see Roughage.txt for the contact address).  You may redistribute this font as you wish.  It is even OK to make derivatives of this font (modify it) and redistribute them, as Web Dog had released this (and other fonts) as a free font with no actual license text file to accompany it.<br />

Web Dog is reported to be Greg Smith from Australia.  Some shops list the brand as Web Dog, but until now, every read me text file that I ever saw included (only in a couple of fonts) referred to the brand as WEBDOG, the 2 words pushed together and all caps.  This particular Web Dog font does have a Roughage.txt file that shows "Web Dog" as the brand.  <br />

The Web Dog URL still works, although now it is pointing to a different design studio brand with no mention of Web Dog (or WebDog) or the around 20 free fonts released by Web Dog.<br />

Font-Journal is a cataloged archive of freeware and shareware fonts that I maintain especially for my self employed and small business clients.  I try to collect PC truetype freeware fonts that can be used for commercial purposes, and shareware fonts that can be used for commercial purposes upon registration and/or payment of the shareware fee.  I also try to collect freely distributable web fonts of the same variety.  The end result is a pretty decent font repository that is freelancer, start-up, and small business freindly.  This assists in creating logos and designing website styles based on a choice of preferred fonts, or in searching for fonts to accomodate a logo or website design.  Unfortunately, I can only work on Font-Journal in my spare time, which I have little of.<br />

If you would like to get yourself a decent font editor and add to or otherwise modify this font (say, add true lowercase characters), I recommend Fontographer, although TypeTool can also do the job.<br />

My portfolio usually needs to be updated, as I always have a ton of projects going and I even like to design my own fonts to offer exclusively through my font respository at Font-Journal.  But it is another good way to contact me.<br />

I started out as an motorcycle racer and mechanic, hoping to get to Formula 1.  That didn't work out and I never got to get in any race car as I had planned.  I wound-up as an illustrator, animator, doing some programming and tech support.  Plus, I have always been amatuer photographer and videographer.  I was designing logos, posters and graphics in college with Illustrator and Photoshop, and wound-up making a website portfolio just afterwards.  A few people liked it and I wound-up as a freelance web design studio.  Then I expanded into web hosting, then domain name registrations and servers, offering a complete set of webmaster tools as Domain Hostmaster.  I then added the Domainance store in an effort to keep .name registrations and transfers available when our vendor dropped it.<br />

Now-a-days, I am just trying to corner a peice of the domain name registration and website hosting space, as I sell for less than most and offer more with better technical support.  Professional domainers, designers, developers, optimizers and webmasters do like how I keep prices as low as possible and add my expertise and value where I can.<br />
