Learning Curve v 4.0 by Jess Latham
===================================

Learning Curve v. 4.0 is a set of cursive handwriting scripts intended for educational use, and is especially useful for teaching kids handwriting skills. With everyone on digital devices, handwriting seems to be becoming a lost art. Jess Latham has designed and continues to develop the Learning Curve font family, having added the Learning Curve Ruled family (in addition to this family) of fonts as an opportunity to make things easier to use for educators that use his fonts.

FREEWARE LICENSE
This font is OK to use for commercial, educational, charitable or personal uses. Please see the Freeware License included in README.TXT for license specifics. All forms of web embedding (except creation software) is allowed for Jess Latham's freeware fonts. If you would like to say thanks for the free fonts, please consider purchasing any retail font from his collection at Font Spring or My Fonts. This is especially true if you use any freeware font for commercial use.

A special license is needed for the following: creation software embedding. Contact Jess Latham for more info and specific questions (see DESIGNER section contact info, below).

THIS FONT FAMILY
This monoline cursive handwriting family has been further expanded with a ruled version, the Learning Curve Ruled font family, also available at Font-Journal.

Each included font is available in both TrueType or OpenType formats, but you should only install one type of font format or the other, not both. The Opentype fonts (with the '.otf' file extensions) have Postscript curves and instruction sets and may be more useful for graphic artists or those with Postscript printers. The TrueType fonts (files with the '.ttf' extensions) are what most people would install if they are just using the fonts in a word processor program.

There are a number of fonts here:
Learning Curve Regular: creates example text cursive handwriting
Learning Curve Alt G: same as above, but with an alternate G
Learning Curve Starts: creates lowercase-only example start letters
Learning Curve Bold: creates a bold example text of cursive handwriting
Learning Curve Alt G Bold: same as above, but with an alternate G
Learning Curve Starts Bold: creates bold lowercase example cursive start letters
Learning Curve Dashed: creates a dashed cursive handwriting text kids can trace
Learning Curve Dashed Alt G: same as above, but with an alternate G
Learning Curve Dashed Starts: creates dashed lowercase start cursive to trace
Learning Curve Dings: includes a few Dings; a pencil, a blank rule, etc.

The starting lowercase (which includes lowercase only letters) fonts are a substitute for those who do not have OpenType Features with dropdown contextual menus for alternate characters.

This font family is a very healthy set of fonts to meet the needs of educators as well as those of us who print instructional handwriting books to help kids learn cursive handwriting, but these fonts can also be used to create an educational feel to a work, such as help communicating a school stage setting for a video.

THIS ARCHIVE
This archive was put together by Doug Peters for Font-Journal using the fonts, sample images and license (in the README.TXT) directly downloaded from Jess Latham's official website (linked below). It has been rearranged in that all the fonts have been moved to the root of the archive so that they are all viewable in the Font-Journal.com online font repository catalog. This text has been added to document what's known about the font, the designer, the license, and offer relevant links to these sources.

This documented font distribution archive can be found at:

SHORT URL:

This font is closely associated with the matching 'Learning Curve Ruled' cursive handwriting font script by Jess Latham, which can also be found on Font-Journal at:

The two font families are really one and make a valuable tool when used together.
